We offer guided tours of the Living Classroom at the Village at University Gates in Waterloo. Visiting in person is a great way to understand what’s required within the physical environment and to start envisioning how the Living Classroom might look within your own long-term care home.

Our Location

The Living Classroom at University Gates is located at 250 Laurelwood Drive, Waterloo, Ontario (see below for driving directions).

Driving Directions

Directions to the Research Institute for Aging and the Village at University Gates, 250 Laurelwood Drive, Waterloo, Ontario.

From Highway 401

Take exit 278 onto Highway 7/8 to Kitchener.

Continue on Highway 7/8, past the Guelph exit, where it becomes Highway 85 to Waterloo.
Continue on 85 until University Avenue – take the second exit.

Continue west on University Avenue, crossing Marsland Drive, Weber, King Street, until you reach Phillip Street – turn RIGHT onto Phillip and at the next set of lights, turn LEFT onto Columbia Street.

Continue on Columbia, past Westmount, to Fischer Hallman Road.

Turn RIGHT onto Fischer Hallman.

At the next set of lights, turn RIGHT onto Laurelwood Drive, then immediately LEFT into the University Gates driveway. Follow the driveway to the parking lot.

The RIA offices are at the first entrance. The Village at University Gates is at the second entrance.

Please note that not all GPS units show the correct address for the building – many incorrectly indicate turning left from Fischer Hallman onto Laurelwood Drive. Google Maps shows the correct location.
